Japanese animated series Marvel Future Avengers premieres February 28 on Disney +
While Marvel Phase 4 won’t begin in a few months, Marvel fans will be delighted to hear that a new story is coming soon in the form of Marvel Future Avengers, an animated series that will be premiered on Disney + to February 28, 2020. (via the D23 website).
The anime revolves around the original story of a young boy named Makoto, who develops superpowers through a HYDRA experience. Along with other teenagers, Makoto joins the Avengers under a new group called the Future Avengers, battling villainy alongside heavyweights such as Captain America, Iron Man, Thor, Hulk, and the Wasp.
Originally broadcast in Japan in 2017, Marvel Future Avengers was produced by Japanese animation studio Madhouse and Walt Disney Japan. It lasted 39 episodes over two seasons.
This isn’t the first time Marvel has teamed up with Madhouse, having created personalities like Iron Man, X-Men, Wolverine, and Blade series, as well as animated films in Iron Man: The Rise of Technovore (2013) and Avengers Confidential: Black Widow & Punisher (2014).
Marvel Future Avengers will join the next one What if…? as the second Marvel animated series on Disney +.
